Now that your kids are back to school. With all the preparations, from getting school supplies, latest wardrobe and sports equipment for the new school year, one of the things that parents shouldn't forget about is their kids' teeth.
According to the American Dental Association, a dental examination is as important as immunizations and booster shots. Tooth decay and other dental diseases can lead to pain, trouble eating, difficulty speaking, and school absences.
During your child's back to school dental visit, your dentist will check for cavities, clean your child's teeth and make sure they are keeping up with good brushing and flossing habits. Your dentist may suggest fluoride treatments and sealants to prevent decay. The appointment likely won't last more than an hour but the positive effect on your child's dental health will be a long lasting. So call your dentist and make an appointment.
